Let’s talk about stuff! Your stuff.

Offering a wide range of services:

Decluttering & Sorting

  • What will you do with it? Let WayMaker work with you to determine what you will keep (or move with you), donate, sell, trash/recycle or give to your family and friends. We can also work with you on the spaces that are driving you crazy and you can’t enjoy anymore because they are so cluttered. Let us help you create a more organized environment. For many of our clients, this is a vital step when aging-in-place.

Packing and Unpacking

  • Let us help you pack your kitchen, closets, decor, etc. We will bring all the necessary supplies.

On moving day(s), we start unpacking and removing discarded boxes and packing materials so you don’t have to.

Whether we are handling both the packing and unpacking, or just one of these, its always important for us to know the destination and our client preferences for their new home.

If you are moving into the Atlanta area, we can support your unpacking needs. If you are moving out of the area to another state, we can support your packing and work on solutions for your unpacking needs. Our membership in NASMM (National Association of Specialty & Senior Move Managers) allow us to collaborate with move managers from around North America..

Move Management

  • Important considerations include your destination, your new home size, your closing date(s) and target move-in date, do you have family support or plan to take on some of the moving needs yourself?

Beyond that and almost more important to us is to understand the experience you want to have in this process.

We can orchestrate all the pieces of a move and bring in vetted moving companies for the loading, transfer and unloading. They provide the muscle, careful packing/unpacking of furniture, etc. and their trucks to transfer your belongings.

Sell Your Stuff

  • It usually done after our clients have moved into their new home or all the personal belongings removed in a clearout.

As your move manager, our role is to bring in the right sales channel for our clients. Based on what there is to sell, deadlines and other considerations, we will introduce vetted partners such as Estate Sale companies, Online Auction Companies, Auction Houses or other specialty buyers.

One of our goals in helping clients sell their possessions is to help them recover some of the financial investment made in paying for movers or our move management services, for example.

Estate Clearouts

  • Perhaps you are clearing out the family home where you grew up or the assisted living apartment that was your loved ones last residence.. You might be taking this on days, weeks or months after their death and often times the goal is to get the home ready for listing or a new resident.

This can be a daunting emotional task especially when the sheer volume of things accumulated over a lifetime in the home becomes overwhelming, In many cases this can feel like an archeological dig as treasures that have not been seen in decades are discovered.

Our team can support all the steps of a clearout including gathering personal items for family members, shredding personal documents, removing trash and coordinating selling what can be sold as well as donations.

Estate Dispersals to Family

  • Often, we encourage our clients to start giving their children and friends belongings that are set aside for them as long as they are interested, able and willing to accept them. Many items that are set aside for others will not fit or have function in a downsized home and storing them for possible use in the future is a costly decision.

Other times we are working with executors to coordinate delivery or shipment of legacy items assigned to beneficiaries.

Whichever scenario you are in, WayMaker can make the necessary arrangements and help manage the dispersal.

Home & Asset Inventory

  • It can be invaluable for families or an estate to take the time to record the most important/valuable/sentimental belongings. This is true whether its planning for a division of assets to family members equitably or trying to assess the value of an estate for other legacy goals.

Maybe you have multiple houses, things in storage or large amounts of belongings and want to get better organized with their location, the fair market value, etc.

There are many ways to use inventories and we have access to various tools that can help you to assign items to different family members, donation or sale.

We can also introduce ways to catalog the stories behind your things that are important for family members to know.

Floor Plans

  • Creating floor plans for our clients is one of the most fun aspects of our work and a vital step in bringing clarity to decisions about what to keep and move.

While we discuss the “must-have” pieces to move, we must also consider the flow of the new space, safety, etc.

Floor plans help you visualize the space in your new home, how it can work for you, how your furniture will fit, etc.

Beyond measuring walls and furniture pieces, many other details impact furniture placement and where your things will go: outlet & TV hookups, windows, doors, upper and lower cabinets, drawer space, etc.

Are you coming from a home with lots of built-ins in the living room or a custom closet? These details may not be replicated in your new space. Where will all those pictures, books, clothes, etc. go?

Whether we use magnetic boards, drawings or software to create floor plans to scale, please know you will be part of the process. Added benefits of the floor plan process, they are extremely helpful in preparing mover estimates and expediting moving day.

New Home Set Up

  • Let us put the finishing touches into new home environments. From making the bed for that first night sleep to hanging gallery walls, these details can warm up a new space.

Our New Home Set Up services might start prior to moving day. Most of the time though, we ramp up quickly on moving day(s). So that our clients are most comfortable on the first night in their new home, we generally prioritize spaces such as the master bedroom/bath and kitchen.

New homes present a creative opportunity to decorate and repurpose some of your favorite pieces – from furniture to artwork. Yet many times, it’s important to bring familiarity to a new space, for example, making sure that your favorite reading/TV watching chair, side table and floor lamp have the same set up. This can make it much easier to predict where the TV remote is or that book you have been reading.

Through our membership with NASMM, there are times we collaborate with other Senior Move Managers located outside the Atlanta area. They are working with clients in their original location and we come in to help unpack and set up the new home in the Atlanta area. Other times, when our clients are moving out of the Atlanta area, we introduce another NASMM member that can support their unpack & new set up needs.

From start to settled, we deliver a moving experience.
